Philanthropic Impact Through Blessings in a Backpack & The Duke of Edinburgh Cup

At the intersection of sports and philanthropy, Justin and Kate Rose’s story is inspiring. As a talented PGA tour golfer and Olympic gold medalist, Justin has made a name for himself on the greens. But off the course, Kate has led their heartfelt charitable work, capturing the world’s admiration. In March 2025, they were honored with Golf Digest’s prestigious Arnie Award for their incredible commitment to improving the lives of children.

The Roses’ journey with Blessings in a Backpack began in 2009 through Kate’s involvement with the PGA Tour Wives Association. She recognized the urgent need to provide food for children on the weekends when they don’t have access to school meals. That spark turned into a mission, and together, they established the Kate & Justin Rose Foundation. From 2010 to 2019, they delivered 535,000 hunger-free weekends to 15,000 kids in Orlando.

Kate’s early involvement with Blessings’ national board was instrumental in the organization’s growth. In 2020, support from the Rose Foundation resulted in the establishment of a chapter in Central Florida. In our five-year history, Blessings in a Backpack Central Florida Chapter has provided 865,623 hunger-free weekends to 24,862 kids.

The Roses’ influence reaches beyond Orlando to other U.S. cities and extends to the UK charity The Duke of Edinburgh Cup, where Justin is the Golfing Ambassador, and Kate is on the Board of Trustees.

This legacy of kindness and dedication exemplifies how Kate and Justin’s efforts can move others to drive significant change and encourage others to support causes that make a difference in the lives of children here and abroad.
