A: Yes! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, meaning that donations are 100% tax-deductible (less the value of goods and services received, if applicable). Our Tax ID # is 26-1964620.

A: Simply email Brent Glass and tell him how you want to change your monthly donation. If you need to update your credit card information, please call Brent at (312) 366-2749. Do not send credit card information over email. You can also click here to create a new recurring monthly donation and we will cancel your old one.

A: Fill out the standard online donation form. Under the “How did you hear about us?” section there is a blank section for comments. Include the honoree of your gift. If you’d like someone to receive notice of your donation, include the contact person’s name and contact information. For example, “In memory of Buddy Backpack. Please send notice to the Backpack Family at 123 Somewhere Rd., Orlando, FL 32804.”

Or, if donating by mail, please include the honoree information with your check.

A: All in, it costs $150 to feed a child in Orlando on the weekends throughout the school year. The national average is $175 per child/school year.

A: Blessings in a Backpack works hard at being a good steward of our donors’ gifts. As of 6/30/2019 (the last date of audited financials), we spend 83 percent of our budget on direct program-related expenses.

Our dedication to feeding kids with the majority of every dollar we receive has earned us a 4 star rating from Charity Navigator (highest rating possible) and a platinum rating from Guidestar.
