Press Room

Blessings in a Backpack is a national organization that mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children who might otherwise go hungry.

In Central Florida, it is estimated that one in every five children live in a food-insecure home, according to Feeding America

We fill the 65-hour weekend meal gap to ensure kids have the nutrition they need so they can show up to school Monday morning nourished and ready to learn.

Locally, Blessings in a Backpack Orlando helps feed more than 5,600 children in 42 schools each weekend in Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties.
