Donor-Advised Funds
Donor-advised funds (DAFs) have been growing in popularity in the past few years. Why? Because they allow philanthropists an easy, cost-effective way to support their favorite causes.
Simply put, DAFs are accounts that donors set up that are managed by nonprofit organizations (most often, the charitable arms of financial institutions like Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, etc.). Donors contribute to the fund, which grows tax-free, but receive the tax benefit from their contribution immediately. The donor then can recommend that the fund make gifts to their favorite nonprofits, like Blessings in a Backpack!
You can talk to your DAF institution about recommending a gift to Blessings in a Backpack or you can you use the form below.
If you plan to recommend a gift from your DAF to Blessings in a Backpack, please click here to email Sydney DeLong. Also, please ensure that you share your contact information so that we know who generously helped us feed kids on the weekend.
