Blessings in a Backpack Orlando Chapter distributes nutritionist-created bags of weekend food filled with kid-friendly, accessible food every Friday at Orange County Public Schools Academic Center for Excellence (OCPS ACE). Children with enough to eat perform better in school and feel supported by their community. The program’s goal is to ensure students arrive at school on Mondays nourished and ready to learn.

OCPS ACE is the largest school program in Central Florida. During the 2024-2025 school year, Blessings Orlando will provide 19,000 bags of weekend food to 500 children. Thanks to community supporters, Blessings Orlando reduces weekend hunger, enhances well-being, lessens anxiety, and supports academic success and attendance.
